Any lens that has a tripod collar has it for a reason. Often, the lens is heavier than the camera, so supporting the lens is the lower strain set up. Also, it balances better on the tripod head making reframing easier and maximizing stability. If a lens has a tripod collar, I think we should use it.

The information in this video is good, but the title is misleading. It should say "Storytelling with Macro Photography". That "in" from the title suggests more compositional tips then what macro shots are useful for.
