Hi Animators! 🙂 In this Tutorial I show the use of the Maya Constraint, analyzing different situations where you’ll need it.
This tutorial is based on the principles explained in the Lesson 10 “SECONDARY ACTION” https://iwanttobeananimator.wordpress.com/2018/01/11/lesson-10-secondary-action-recap/
Software: Maya

The video is really amazing and helpful, but you talk a little too fast for me ^^' (probably because I'm not a native English speaker 😀 )
Thank you! This really helped me constrain an object from one hand to the next; after picking it up, then dropping it. (challenging myself with my animations atm). 😀
This video is good, and important. 🙂
This is just brilliant channel, why haven't I found it earlier
Hello, when I do an Orient Constraint of an object to a locator I can make it turn fine but only on his original position, if I translate the object and after that I translate the locator (so far this is what I want) I can not rotate any more on his one axis, the rotation is diferent
Thank you so much! I’m doing a shot with the character swinging a bo staff so it’s mostly one hand holding it, sometimes both, then switches to the other hand for a few frames while the primary hand changes positions on the staff. I’m probably biting off way more than I can chew, but this video will definitely help!
Also, I wish I knew about constraints when I did a walk cycle with one of the hands on the hips haha.
Hi very useful and well explaoned!! Could you explain the constrain to use in the case of a character riding a horse? Thank you very much
one Question Ma'am, How do I get this simple flat shaded shadow effect. i mean is this toon shader? If possible I'd appreciate your detailed answer. thanks.
Extremely Useful information BUT Too fast. This is for beginners but they can't learn with Pro Speed. plus your speech pace is also fast. like you want to complete it under a gun point. I definitely gonna use written version.
Thank you very much for all your videos.

how do i constrain this
Excelent thank you
thousands of likes . thank you !
For the tutorial where one item is switching from one hand to another, how does one do it with referenced items that has a rig? I can't parent the item under the 2nd hand Locator and not sure how to go around it
Everything in our tutorials is great but you speaks very fast in tutorials that is quite difficult to understand.please teach slowly, else everything is fantastic.
6:59 Parent Constraint vs Parent (P)
wah…God knows I needed this…thanks
Hi Chiara ! Thanks for these wonderful Tuts. I have an issue. i'm using Maya 2018 and when i want to release any constrained object, i switch the 'blend parent' attribute to 0. BUT what happens is my Object just jumps back to its original position where it was before constraining. Help please.
My blend parent doesn't appear, even though I have set the key on the ball object. what should i do?
Too fast 😒…
Hi, I'd like you to tell us how you make your Youtube videos. I mean, how do you create the content, the images and so forth?
Really fan of your channel.
Thanks!
are these rigs free to use? is there a download link i could get for them if they are?
Helpful….
So useful!
