Never really noticed before, but the golden ratio seems to be pretty much One-point perspective (kInd of).
At 13:53 (the circle of chairs), did anyone else immediately think support group?
Wouldn't that make it difficult to sort of… have an image that is balanced but doesn't take away from the focal point? That's the part I have the most trouble with. > <
Thanks for your time to explain and give me so many information i need.
2:49 from the hood haha
I noticed the dragon not Vatican 😂
WOW!!!! You're a master!
at 10:30 dragon's face got my attention instead of viking .
WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME ?
you are the best teacher i ever had
If there is one focal element on one side of the picture then how can I balance the picture? I am confused kindly answer this
thank you . this tutorial is very good
Disclaimer: I'm not a CG artist nor a photographer. I just love to learn from these videos 🙂 …and after this one, I started noticing that, among the normal holiday photos I took, the ones I like most are usually those that make use of some composition elements (although I never planned them :)). Really cool and interesting video!! It makes you appreciate more movies, photos, CG and so on
3:03 Ha ha ha……! I was so confused.. "God damn it! which chair??"
And Then….
3:35 WOW!!! I did not see that coming!
How it that poss-ib-….. Jesus Chri-ss….. That's Just Awesome!
hum…you like order I prefer a melt of order and disorder it's more creative for me. like the random chairs for me it means the reunion is over, have fun, and when it's well ordered nothing happened, so boring. and I like the space ship at 13min and I saw the dragon first. rules ok… but not for me please…
Amazing, thank you!
My head man my head lol. I was told by pros I lack 20 percent which is this and shading. I guess that means my modeling skills are good lol. I spent all my time concerned with modeling and never bothered with this guess it makes sense never even knew this was a thing. Now I need to pound this into my skull over and over.
Really Nice video but i have a little trouble understanding something: how can we have both a focal and a balanced image? It seems contradictory to me
Thanks man, really nice video's , i've watched this one and the color one. Could directly implement it in my own drawing 😉 !
You are the Bob Ross of CGI……Thats a compliment buddy!
the effort put into this is really appreciated, thank you man
I think there is a lot of "suggestion" (if that's the right Word in english) to this topic, i mean, if you look for these "rules" you will find them everywhere, not exactly because the artist had the intention. Many people will percieve the art work differently as well. For example, the image of the viking, his face was the last thing i wanted to look at…and i know for a fact that i wasn't the only one considering the comments below.
Of course there are principles to this, but i wouldn't exactly call them rules, more like tips, at the end of the day it is mostly subjective. Anyway, these are pretty good tips and i could use some of them.
Great video, even though I disagree with alot, but I really want to say that, you can't jist squish and stretch the Golden ratio spiral like you did with some, the spiral is very mathematically precise, and changimg it evem a little bot, changes the ratio to no lomger be golden
But besides that, a good introduction to composition, of course every rule can be broken for additional meaning amd poetic interpretations
Masterpiece 💎
Great video! Thanks for those insights, they were most welcome! I am a videomaker and I am very anxious to start using those concepts in my videos. I was wondering if you could clarify for me one doubt that came up while I was watching your video. How do I tell the difference between an element that is "fighting and competing for attention" rather than just balancing the composition? Once again, thanks a lot!
Great video, I am skeptical about the structure rules like the thirds and golden ratio, though, the examples you showed do not put important parts of the image where it should be, in the image of the explosion, for example, there is nothing in the other points, and in the cats' image, their faces, which obviously draw a lot of attention, are not into the thirds…
Why do I feel I'm listening to John Hurt's voice???
well…now I know why the houses of parliament are asymmetrical
I went for the top of the staff in the lizard image, and for the rusty car in the house image… just saying… extremely valuable info and well done vid, very good use for 30 minutes of my life.
These videos are great! Thank you
flashbacks of photography class
Thank you so much for this video! Definitly helping me become a better artist.
Awesome stuff here, really will help me going forward.
CHAIRS
Thank you ^_^
when trying to balance an image, that wont create another focal element ?
Best tutorial ever.. Cheers Man
Please add a subtitle,no automatic subtitle here。。。really like your video, please!
is that you kripke?
Excellent video. Thank you. I learned in a different video that the human ability to read from left to right is another way to influence composition in a photo. Do you agree? Why yes or why not.
youre amazing dude but btw about the viking picture my eyes were immediately drown to the dragon not the viking face due to the high saturation
Im not understanding the balance of your previous work with that figure with a bright light. Of Course balance is good, but if the rest of the background isn't the focal point, is there a need to add more light to the background? If so, won't you just detract from the most important aspect of the piece if the whole artwork has the same visual weight in this case
Thank you for this lesson.
4 yrs of my uni degree done in this video
great
Thank you for the video, really informative!! May I ask, to any of these rules, especially the rule of thirds… Can the rule of Perspective be applied to them? Is it possible to make a composition combination of the two for a drawing with good results?
In school our photography professor struggled about explaining composition rules to us, so he showed us this video and it really helped a lot and all of our photos came out much better. In free time i use blender and maya for animations and this video really helped me to gain professional look on my scenes. Thank you very much! I learn a lot with help of your videos! Keep up the good work!
this was exactly what I was looking for.
Self Contradiction was strong in this one… what you said about contrast and focusing on 1 thing was totally shattered when u tried to explain how u should have few just as contrasted things.
and after few mins talking about weight… that kid didn't feel at all as "important and balancing" as the robots and all the lights there ;d Also totally dragon eye not viking..
thanks!
So helpful! Thank you so much 🙂
