In this tutorial I’ll teach all the basics you need to start creating amazing 3D models using Blender. Blender allows you to do anything involving 3D including modeling, animation, simulation, game design, movie editing, etc.

This is a multipart tutorial, but by the end of this video you should feel more then comfortable with using Blender.

  1. GREAT Video Man!, Hey my friend I'm NEW TO BLENDER, I Have some experience to modding with Zmodeler 2 for 18 WOS Hauling..Been out for awhile and now I'm interested in getting back "N Da Game". Never Played American Truck Simulator , But I'm Looking to play it and create my ''Own mod TRUCKS''. Can you do a complete Beginners Tutorial STEP by STEP, Its Tools & Techniques and Strategies needed to model a truck preferably, Peterbilt 379 & Kenworth w900l Daycab {for both vehicles} BLENDER is very intimidating, but i'm up for the challenge, just need the right mentor!! I Know Its a Lot To Ask, Just Hoping you can Help A friend out Thanks!

  2. OKAY! i'm not even two minutes into the video and I noticed my set up is different from your set up. at 1:31, you hit "screen cast keys" and hit "start display" but when I went into my "N" and scrolled down, there wasn't even that option in the options. mine stops at the bottom at transform orientation. I have the newest version. 2.79….help?

  3. I do not know what went wrong when i did the spin option, it made it round but it only did it 90°, ''So that is not a problem right?, Just type in 160°, and i did it only expanded it a bit and not fully, so i typed in 400° and it worked but it is not fully Connecting.
O and my glasses handle is not right Because the Bezier tool is not as smooth as your it Forces me in a direction i don not want it to go and some times the bezier hook is too long fore me to us the rest if the line.
Any tips on how to fix these problems.

  4. i followed your direction step by step but i used a different wine glass very similar though and i couldnt get it !!! I tried it twice step by step but the glass is almost cylinder shaped and theres an opening on both sides

  5. I'm having a problem splitting the cube and sphere after doing the join, found at 16:30 in the video.
I have followed the video up to this point, my settings and mouse set up are the same.
After deleting the prior objects, I create the cube, move the cube over, deselect, and then create the sphere.
I have tried by having them overlap, as well and not overlap, my result is the same, doing the following.

I then use shift and right click to select each object, I press control + j, I then deselect with "a".
Then I reselect with right click to ensure they are indeed one object. I press "Tab" to switch to edit mode. I press "p" and choose "loose parts".
"Tab" again to get back into object mode.
Make sure nothing is selected with "a", then I right click the sphere and drag, I even attempted this with "g" then "x" to grab and move along the x axis. The result is both moving together.

I got them to separate once by hiding the cube with "h", moved the sphere and alt + h to unhide the cube, the sphere would then allow it to be moved separately but the center point is offset towards the direction the cube was.

Using blender 2.79, Windows 10. Any suggestions?

  6. I wish you taught Blender few years ago, when I was learning that software. 😟
I am glad you are doing Blender tutorials. I hope you will teach node compositing as I am struggling with that. Thank you for making them.

  7. Just discovered your channel some weeks ago and already learned so much stuff. What about a short gimp series? I realy would like to learn some basic stuff for example for app designs.

Keep up the good work and thx for shareing your knowledge.

  8. Wow Blender!! I remember looking at this back in the early 2000's. Good to see it's still being developed and going strong.
Before I concider installing it, I'd like to know if a pen tablet can be used with it. have an Intuos 5, a bit old now I know but still a good bit of kit – was using it sucessfully with C4D.

Thanks for putting on another great and fun tut serise Derek.
