thank you for your time and effort
It's late and I can't watch the whole thing at one go right now but I can tell excellence when I see it. Just ordered the book. One more point: If you want to do good photography in any medium or genre, time spent on lighting will reward you more than any other effort you'll make. Goes double for portrait, which includes video interviews and tons of other things. It's not how long the video is. It's whether it's some backward-ball-cap dude yelling HEY GUYS WASSUP and mugging and rolling around his studio on a skateboard and finally giving up one or two worthwhile points or whether it's a really knowledgeable shooter breaking the whole subject down for you and telling you everything you need to know to achieve greater mastery yourself. Me, I prefer that second thing.
So he is the boyfriend of Linsday Adler. She is one of my fav photographer in the world. And i recognised one of the portrait featuring her. She showed it in one of her tutorial. She said that was taken by her boyfriend.
The most interesting, informative and educational tutorial about lighting I've ever watched. I can't believe this tutorial was free.
Technology should be help peoples to make something easier should not give us a difficult like this.
How about adobe lighroom?
Excellent video! Thank you!
Just noticed that itโs one of my favourite female photographers – lindsay adler – providing the support.
Love her work.
So the camera exposure is always set for the key light?
Iโm confused in the camera F5.6 is brighter than F11 but on the light meter f5.6 is darker. ๐ณ๐ค
photographer shoots gothic chick in all black room for 3 hours
it can be confusing a bit that he says the light closer makes it softer, and he also says further away makes it softer. But he probably just means that you lose contrast. because further away light should be harder? how can it both be soft. i dont understand any of that.
"long ago when I was learning…" sounds arrogant as you'll be learning for as long as you live ๐
This video is better than the paid courses. Thanks man
Nit to pick: a grid does not "focus" light. Focusing would be directing the light from the light source into a tighter beam, which result in no loss of power. What a grid is doing is blocking light from spilling further out to the sides, which results in a narrower beam of light, but with a loss of power; the tighter the grid, the greater the power loss.
What boom arm is that?! That thing is totally legit!
Super great tutorial and information!! Thank you for sharing, maybe just shift the mic in the future. Most of the audio all you get focused on is the speaker swallowing ๐
Magistral
THANK YOU !! that was one of the best tutorial I had seen on YouTube ๐ I understand a lot more about light.
Way way too long and drawn-out!! Get to the point! Couldn't watch it, sorry!
This is great tutorial breakdown little step by step. For me, It is valuable and worth it to watch the whole tutorial 2:39:23. In fact, I donโt know much about lighting setup as I am starting out. I really appreciate you. Thatโs why I hit the red bell ๐. I am looking forward more lighting videos tips. Thanks ๐
Congratulations PRO EDU Photography
Great video thanks for sharing
Really well done for the way Mr Knight lectures and explains in depth. I am a tutor myself for a long time and cannot but admire the way this is done. Highly recommended.
Great video and a great informations , thank you so much ๐๐
What material is the background?
Wow great going to see again and again. Very good teacher.
Ia this same tutorial on proedu that u have to pay for?
You know this guys is great when he has Lindsay Adler as his assistant.
Awesome content for the ever
If you are willing to commit almost 3 hours to learn, then be assured you will take home a wealth of information and knowledge from this video. This is for me one of the greatest photography tutorial online. I consider myself to be lucky for having come across this video. Thank you so much.
Crazy this is free.
I never thought that I'd sit through an almost 3 hour YouTube video (longest I've sat through to date by far) and it was every bit worth the 3 hours… And the fact that it's free is incredible. Chris, definitely going to search for any books/courses you teach to show some support in some way. Having all of these examples in a controlled, consistent environment finally helped me understand the concepts and tools I previously struggled with. Thanks a ton!!
Thank you…this was very thorough, so is your work….all the best…
I went translation pleaseeeee๐ฅบ๐ฅบ๐ฅบ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ๐๐
Wait a minute is that Lindsay Adler as his assist ?
?
Very clear presentation. I've been looking for a few more lights, and which modifiers to get has been a major point of indecision. The comparisons between modifiers was extremely helpful.
Good job team ๐
amazing content but 4 ads in 20 minutes is ugh…
Iโm at 5 mins bored but know in my heart that this is one to watch till the end. I feel like Iโm watching a master.
Love the contents
Bravo!!! Merci !!!! thank you !!!!
the best class!!!!
Wait…I'm really confused. 2-1/2 hours of an in-depth tutorial on lighting explained beautifully within a well produced video…and it's 100% free? That doesn't make sense, but boy am I grateful for it. Thanks Chris!
Best tutorial I've seen on the YouTube. Thank you. So much to take from this. J
Wait you have Lindsay Adler as assistant?
Real gangsta has been arrived..
The Best Tutorial on YouTube which covers all the subjects precisely and comprehensively. I wish I had found this Video earlier ๐ Awesome teaching.
It's studio lighting crash course. Why call it dramatic! Maybe because neither photographer nor model are smiling! They look very serious dramatically ๐ Thanks a lot Chris, great tutorial
