Blender Smoke: Render Setting Comparison

I was playing around with smoke simulation in cycles, and wanted to make a comparison of different render settings for smoke, for my reference. I thought I’d share it here so others can benefit from it.

I learnt that from this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSiV5gg_lCs

Blender is free open source 3d animation software, that you can download at http://www.blender.org

  1. a tip for you: when you are rendering in cycles, go to sampling > seed and type in "#frame". This will make the noise in the render dynamic, (means, it's going to change its position every frame, more like in actual footage). This way, you can edit out the noise by using video editors.
(the smoke simulations seemed to have grain that stayed in the same place all the time)
