Helpful Tips for Improving Your Landscape Photography

Landscape is a complex genre that takes a lot of skill, forethought, and creativity to create successful images. This excellent video will show you a wide variety of tips to improve your landscape photography.

Coming to you from Nigel Danson, this great video features him discussing the things that most improved his landscape photography. Personally, the tip that had the biggest impact on my work is the importance of doing proper research. When I was new to photography, I used to just head out into the woods with my camera and hope to happen upon a nice scene, and once I got there, I would fumble about with settings and compositions, hoping to basically luck into a good shot. And while there is nothing wrong with a sense of exploration, I found that when I took the time to previsualize a shot, research a location, watch the weather, and predict the light, I came back with better-crafted shots and was successful far more often. It was also much more satisfying to see the fruits of my efforts. Check out the video above for lots of helpful information from Danson.
