Srsly ppl, you’re getting a free lecture on how to light your objects AND then if you’re lazy; there’s a reasonably priced add-on that can save you a lot of time.
Stop whining, stop expecting the world to hand out everything for free and listen to all the great (FREE) tips
….btw You read that right: Reasonably priced. I was always fooling around for 2hours per scene with getting the lighting the way I want, now its just 15 mins of tweaking and done. With the average hour rate of a self-employed designer, this really is a no-brainer.
I'm not a fan of blue/orange. Feels saturated and overstylized to me. So every time I hear that blue/orange is the go-to, I get irritated. For that really punchy stuff, I've been a huge fan of red/blue although it can be pretty extreme. Something about orange man.. I've never liked it except in the context of autumn.
pls am a great fan of YA n i need links to free Models for blender am a bigginer
I had to put you on 1.25 speed as always but it was a good investment of 35 minutes. The lighting plugin is great too, it can shave off a ton of wasted time for people that are perfectionists like myself.
i came here to learn how to make a great lighting.
what i saw is, paying a lot of money…
sir your videos are awesome 🙂 u got 1 more fan in your list
i would like to ask if u make videos on maya/mentalray/ vray lighting…please
You should add " With Pro-Lighting Studio Addon" or something on the title.
You don't have to buy that addon guys, Andrew has a tutorial about how to use hdr images with node editor. What he sells is simplicity and haste nothing more. If you need it you can buy it but its not something that you have to buy.
really great tut , it helps alot
about the eye catch-light ,what if the light source isn't in the right position to be reflected in the eye? ,does this means i have to adjust it?, and what if i did and then it changed how my background looks,?,will it be more beater to just model the eye secular like other,s do? there is alot of what if !!! sorry for that
Well, here's a little tip: Try not to use lights the exact opposite color of a texture. If you're using a perfectly red light and a blue object, the object will barely be lit, because it absorbs the red light. It CAN be used, though, if you're going for a more abstract look, or if your object is reflective. You just have to be careful.
Good lighting can improve upon your work, but bad lighting can ruin it………….So show us all the techniques to set up this lights rather than advertising your super expensive Blender addon. -_-
I write notes while watching this, too 🙂 This is some excellent information preparation. Thanks for sharing your knowledge in such a great way.
Hey, you seem pretty good at making 3d models. So I'm wondering.
Is it possible to make advanced 3d character like you use in this video in only Photoshop?
My guess: no
But a guy told me its super easy and works good
Was an interesting vid until we get to the 40min mark, and then it's a pure infomercial… Sadly the first of you vid's I've had to dislike… 40 minutes in you mention it requires an overpriced addon, where you toggle presets and not actually light anything in the "demonstration".
Make a furniture tutorial
What are the books you read?
This plugin is still updated now?
I just wish there was a free version with juist a few lightings instead of like 100 dollars for hundreds of lightings and floors, cuz I'm only gonna use like 10 different modes
when you die, your eyes are actually the last thing to lose blood.
Is Pro-Lighting Studio open source?
i needed this
I watched for an hour just to try and be sold on buying a $127 add-on right at the end…… Thanks for the tips and all but I was hoping for some kind of tutorial not a sales pitch. Not many people care to read a description right at the beginning of a video, would be nice to get a heads up at the start. #billy-mays-here-with-another-fantastic-product
Thank you for the tutorials, just 1 question. how can the realtime render so fast? because I saw it was not actually very fast, list 30 step for a second? but the model becoming very clear on the viewport. how to do it? when i am rotating my view, the model are very noisy even in 80- 100 step. it is because it was a low poly model with texture normal map etc?
its painful to see someone viewing his 2 mil polygon object without any trouble when i cant my max polycount is about 700k rip
This video should not be thought as a Tutorial with Ads, but an Ad with very useful tips/tutorials.. because we get to appreciate more on the latter.. And I bet to those who kept on complaining about this video that it is full of ads had never even contributed anything that is free and useful but are very good in asking and receiving.. Anyway, I thank you +Blender Guru for giving your experience based tips despite of those critiques who spend their lives complaining..
hey can you guide me to a video just like this for iclone 6… this video was so perfect, but lighting tools a little different from blender 😢
Video starts at 40:00 FRICKEN 40 MINUTES? You wasted my time, again 😡
how did he make that view at 39:35?
The torch/flashlight around a campfire is certainly something I've experienced.
I was told Teal and orange are the most used because our brains associate teal with dark, cold, fear and orange with light, warm, and safety.
tyler burden killed me :DDD
Could you do a video on your set-up?
Seriously? At freakin 40:51, you introduce the new product. Ugh.
24:24 Haven't you heard of Jacksepticeye ?
good ol' jackaboy
Orange/Yellow and Blue look good because they are complimentary colors on the color wheel. Look up color harmonies and color theory for more, lots of great articles out there.
Thanks (y)
That giant ad at the end…
You are awesome Andrew Price! I loved your pro-lighting-studio plug-in. It just works great, even a NOOB like me can use it easily and get excellent results quickly!
Hey Andrew, I have a quick question. Do you think maybe you could make a tutorial on how to use the camera, it's functions and how to rotate while it's moving on a path? that would be great!!!
i think its a really good addOn…and i also think its the right time to build up my own plugin with this reference:)…130$..a bit much i think for some peoples…not too much for the plugin and the great work…:)
at 40:45 there is no lightsource, but the character has orange colored edges. why is that?
This video is like the holy grail.
I came here to learn how to light a model. Apparently, the answer is to pay $127. To an extent I'm not being 100% serious, because the theory part of this video was actually helpful, but come on…
