The x-ray option for bones is under the armature tab (the place where you changed the view to b-bones) Under display just check x-ray.

This kind of organic modeling is one of the areas where I wish Blender had a VR mode. VR makes organic modeling so much easier.

If you are still watching for comments, I tried to get a picture of the finished nodes for Ash Leaf 1 but could not find any point where all the nodes were on the page for the screen print.

I plan to duplicate the first part of this tutorial for the realistic leaf as, risking sounding like a sycophant, this was the finest example of how do work with the nodes that I have seen to date. Yes, you do move quickly but I am ready to pause at all times. 🙂

Though it might not be to others' tastes, I find that listening to Tool while going through your videos just seems to create a very nice synergy. Thanks again for such a wonderful tutorial!

Well, my particles refuse to stick to the twig meshes. No idea what i did wrong. On 'convert" they just make a duplicate of what was before and thats it.
Ive been trying for 11 hours. I fucking give up.

One trick is if you select ending bone and press SHIFT + I in pose mode you have empty as target 🙂

I know I'm VERY late to the party here, but I followed your tutorial ( right down to the node placement) and my leaf turned out black and white? When I downloaded the leaf and opened the node editor; I found it was missing the Transparent BSDF thing… I got everything else to look great 🙁 but now my leaf doesn't match

When I import the image of the leaf the picture does not show up on the plane. I switched to cycles render and the alpha when I imported it.
