    They should make a Drag-Bean so you can make the outside shape of the humanoid ear really quick.

    5:21 When your mesh gets all jagged like that when using a brush, how can you fix that? I was doing a practice sculpt on a rotund/chubby fantasy animal and part of the sphere started doing that and I wasn't sure how to have it stop doing that or how to fix it

    01:0401:40 kind of like drawing with a mouse. you can do it but it's not a good idea.

    I have a quick question.. When I sculpt in Blender and I use symmetry, it seems like the two sides are still different (slightly). It's apparent if I create a small section using clay strips and then go back into edit mode. The lines in edit mode are different on one side. I tried a demo of Zbrush and it doesn't have this issue. Is this a Blender bug with the algorithms, and is there a way to fix this?? Thanks for any help. Love your guys channel!

    Does DynTopo mess with the mesh symmetry in Blender? I know it does in Meshmixer.

    Maybe this was already answered in the comments, but I'm assuming this is the out-of-the-box sculpting features, correct? I've been reading about this specific sculpting branch for Blender….and I'm still trying to wrap my brain around it.

    So.. I thought Blender was awful but it turns out it was actually very competent underneath all of the UX problems? o-o Or was most of this introduced with 2.8?

    Because I could honestly see this completely replacing Zbrush / Sculptris for people like me – generalist on a budget of both time and money. You have no idea how many times I've "gone back to Zbrush" after a month or two and am forced to quite seriously re-learn "everything". Not just hotkeys but workflows! And on top of that it feels like Zbrush Wizards have tapped into sorcerer magic whereas I'm still limited by my non-innate documentation reading and google searching workflows 😛

    I can tell that it's not as polished or focused or fleshed out as Zbrush – and I know that I'll be searching <Problem> <Zbrush> when <Problem> <Blender> turns up nothing buuuuuut I'm like you guys – my workflow is quite seriously just dam standard, clay buildup, move, curve tubes, polish.. wait.. okay so I might actually know exactly what each and every brush does and all of the cool tricks you can do with them. >_> Documentation fiend.

    But still. I need focus. I can't make Zbrush behave like Blender (precise, integrated toolkit) and I can't make Blender perform like Zbrush.. but I can probably do MUCH better work in Blender and FAR faster because I'm presently using it quite a lot – bouncing between it and UE4 – so the knowledge is there – and on top of that the Sculpting branch is getting love from the devs so it should be improving (:

    Zbrush IS the better product. That doesn't mean that it's always the best choice (:

    snake hook also works if you use it with dyntopo, it will add details at it goes, but not necessarily details that you might need. that said, if you snake hook a low quality region, you will end up with wierd triangles that are hard to clean up

    Hey Henning, Morten, since you guys start out discussing navigation, and tablets, and I know you also use Maya… I just wanted to mention that the Wacom Pro Pen 3D does work perfectly to navigate in blender without the need for keyboard hotkeys at all! Set the Lower button to Tumble. Set the Middle button to Pan/Zoom. Set the top button to right click. Now you won't have to think about navigation at all as you jump between B and Maya, and you won't have to muck about with blender keymaps.

    Glad to see Blender getting some love, been my go to for well over a decade now and it just gets better with every release. Something cool in the works for sculpting for the 2.81 release is a voxel remesh operator that can quickly generate a new quad mesh based on the volume of the mesh. It should help a lot with performance once you start reaching the ceiling on dyntopo but you still want to keep pushing the detail without having to first manually retopo.

    The menu items near the top of the screen for Brush and Mask to the right of View and Sculpt are not on my version of Blender 2.81….are they disappearing in the new version? Or did you enable them somehow?
