Landscape Photography – Bale me out

Landscape photography on a bank holiday Monday. On my way to some local woodland, I noticed the wheat fields had been cropped and the bales had been made. With the freshly made tractor lines, I knew this would be an interesting session of having fun with composition.

Hand held with my R6 loaded with my Canon 70 – 200.

  1. Bonjour James,
J'aime beaucoup votre travail de composition. Cependant, je souhaiterais vous signaler un petit problème ; Couramment, un voile blanchâtre apparaît sur vos images. Ce qui est dommage.
Vous remerciant de remédier à ce problème.
    Mes salutations 😉

  2. Nice one James…. Can't agree more… take lots of pics…. even when you think it should be in landscape… turn the camera around 90 degrees and take a couple more in portrait. Good images James … a very worthwhile stop.

  3. Great video James. Making photographs from the ordinary things we see around us all the time. Beginning to sound like a Womble. I subscribe to the "take lots of shots so you have choice when you get home" theory. Problem is when I get home I'm spoilt for choice and can't decide what to process and what to discard! Look foreward to the next once.

  4. I have tried to take this sort of image so often,I have nearly given up, I think it one of the easiest but hardest shots to take, I know thats a contradiction in terms but I am sure you'll know what I mean, everything is so easy lead in lines, easy composition and thats where it all goes wrong, and you come along and real off half a dozen images that look superb, Oh well !!! Take care, Colin.

  5. Every end of summer, I think I must get a photo of the round bales that dot our countryside here in southern Canada. I never get one I like. You've inspired me. Well done James! Quite a number of very good shots!

  6. I thought you got some really nice images there James. The first group of the traditional style bale shots were really nice and the last one with the birds on was my favourite of that group. Everything in that frame is placed perfectly!
