  1. If I wanted to create a new instagram just for my photos, should I put a logo or something on the photo, or just comment it is my photo in the description? I used to have an etsy shop that I would sell my photos and had thought of making an instragram for it but never did.

  2. Develop and having a websites requires the skills or pay web designer and domain name monthly fee at least $30 unless you can store on facebook or the cloud…equipment insurance and maybe rent a studio and travel expenses in this niches. Search clients and sponsors not easy…must have written contract with deposit to avoid legal complications and liability. This gig big undertaking from small takes to big projects if not kept simple. This is under the table no benefits if freelance independent 1099 work let alone pouring into system for taxes and healthcare. Working Commercial companies is better with perks in nyc or ca or florida…or toronto.

  3. Thanks for the tips! About getting paid, you mentioned that you ask for half down deposit at contract signing. At what point do you ask for the other half? Before or after you deliver the images?

  4. Jessica, you broke things down so well! I don't follow a lot of ppl but you are so open and relatable. I'm at the beginning stage of starting my photography business and my biggest challenge is just picking the right entry/mid-level camera that won't overwhelm me and that I won't outgrow too soon. In the meantime I'm learning the settings and trying to get them to work is a challenge for me on my current Panasonic DMC DS60 digital camera. Thanks for the great tips and insight!

  5. Letting the client credit you on their own will is fine, as long as they at least refer you when someone asks or you know not take the credit. Not a professional photographer, but I had a friend who took credit for my photo and I was pretty pissed about it.

  6. Thank you so much for this video Jessica, you have crammed so much great info in to this video! I'm testing the waters on getting in to professional photography and have so much to learn before I'm ready to make the leap, but trying to get a feel for what it looks like. This was super informative and really inspiring, can't wait to binge some of your videos, and will definitely watch this again! Thanks again!

  7. Jessica, this is a old video & i do not know if you ever gonna find my comment out of thousands of comments, but I want to say 'I like you a lot (i do not tell many people) because you speak very genuine when you give advice', I did not see this video yet, just pausing, my comment was based on seeing all of your videos. when i see your face, i feel like you are my good friend! love u!

  8. I'm 13 and recently started doing landscape fotography and food photography. I find it so cool and fun and I'm just using my iPhone XS camera to take photos. I'm planning on buying a more proffesional camera so I can start doing portrait fotography. I was thinking of the Nikon D750 or Canon EOS 80D. What camera should I go for? And my instragram is btw @emil05_ and @emils.kithcenn if you want to check them out! 😀

  9. I just started out my YouTube channel and my photography business so thank u for this video! As a teenager, starting out in this industry as a part time job built from a hobby is hard work and enjoyable, but I’ve still tried to gather as much info from YouTube as possible.

  10. So, I'm ready to start getting paid for photography. I know I can contact friends/family to do things, but how would you guys go about getting gigs, whether it be portraits, head shots etc? I know I can also use social media, and ask people to spread the word, but a lot of people don't always do that lol. Thanks!
