Prominently placed in the Maya “Windows” menu, but only used be a few specialists, is the NODE Editor. In this brief tutorial I demonstrate how to make connections in the Node Editor. I connect the “Start Sweep” output of a NURBS torus with the radius input of a NURBS sphere.

Of course, very complex connections are possibile, for example utility nodes for balancing out the hips in a character animation.

For a slightly more advanced tutorial about the Node Editor, using a mathematical “Utility”, see https://youtu.be/TuuWk1dEVhk

  1. You have a very soothing quality to your voice. I've been devouring Maya knowledge over the past week or so, and your videos are very helpful and some of my favorites. Thanks for the time you put into all of this!
