This is the first look into character rigging. Rigging is such a wide area, so these tutorials are going to be uploaded in parts. The first part is:
– Setting up the skeleton.
The next tutorial will be comming soon. In the next tutorial we will be looking at how to setup the leg.
I hope you enjoy this tutorial. Let me know what you think about it, or if you have any subject you want me to look at let me know, by writing a comment.

I love it when Arnold teaches us things.
great tutorial! thanks a ton!
Awesome tutorial, but what's up with the high-pitched background sound that starts at 7:24?
Whenever I go into the top view all I can see is the shoes.. D:
Clicking away with the joint tool selected but nothing happens. Any Ideas?
@amandamongan You could probably get away with 5 or 6 if you want fly animation in the spine
how many polygons does your model have?
hi man, i tried to follow the tutorial, but i have a little problem.
my joints keep snapping to the vertex points of my character
how can i chance this or should add vertex points at the right places
thanks anyway
Say: Get to the chopper!
Would be so nice to see the mouse cursor. A bit hard to follow since occationally you have no idea where he clicks.
Question: Why do you need to have a joint inside the shoulder as seen on 8:04 into the clip. Can't that joint just be part of the spine?
can u tell me the settings of ur joint tools?? coz i cant scale like wat u did in the vid~
thx a lot 😀
