Spring is the story of a shepherd girl and her dog, who face ancient spirits in order to continue the cycle of life. This poetic and visually stunning short film was written and directed by Andy Goralczyk, inspired by his childhood in the mountains of Germany.

The Spring team used the development version of Blender 2.80 for the entire production, before the software was in official Beta even. As for all of Blender’s Open Movies, the entire production process and all its source files are being shared on the production platform Blender Cloud.

Format: 3D animated film, 7:44 minutes. 5.1 sound. No dialogs. Fit for an audience of 6 years and older (PG). Everything you see was made with Blender, GIMP, Krita and Inkscape.

  1. this is the 1% of Blender shit that's actually good. Most of the blender kiddies out there are producing crap yet flooding conversations how great blender is supposed to be, yet don't know how to really use it, or compose a great shot or animation. This is a standout. Good job. The rest of the blender kiddies need to take notice.

  2. I don't care how many times this comment is repeated among other viewers…this is true art. Amazing to watch and experience. Technology, story-telling, all improving fast. I can't wait until I reach my time to be a part of these projects.

  3. Was that food she gave to the puppy a chocolate after the puppy fetched the twigs she threw? I think it's also important to learn that chocolates and raisins are poisons to dogs and cats. Just my thought otherwise, it's a good animation.
