This Blender Tutorial series will teach you the entire process of creating a beautiful 3D forest scene. In part one we create a terrain and custom trees using the skin modifier!

And that tree takes more than 100mb storage
I don't expect a reply within a small time, but when I do CTRL + A to resize a specific part, it scales the entire mesh? Any idea what's wrong guys? There isn't any answer on a forum, or maybe I'm just being dumb about it.
"ruts"
btw vertex = singular, vertices = plural.
please we need a tutorial about lighting
8:48 Lol
Hey Steve, Any idea how to creat more massive forsts in 3d? Is forest and vegetationa bane of 3d modelling compared to say rock and landscape since those can be jsut sculpted?
All I have to say is wow, this modifier is absolutely life-changing! Just makes this so much easier!
RUTT
If your having issues with a new version of blender (No root object) just collapse the cube then do a single extrusion of the point. You will then have two points connected by a single edge. Add the skin modifier, select the vert you would like to extrude from and continue with the tutorial…
You have symmetry X axis marked. You don't want that for a tree, right?
For making trees, there's also an automatic tree pre-set, under File, user preferences, add-ons, "Add Curve: Sapling Tree Gen". Then hit shift a, curve, sapling tree gen.
what tool is it on 3:30 with the cirkel i can only do 1 vertex at a time
I need to buy a mouse if I want to do this on a surface pro.
cazzo
When im pressing e the whole tree is changing it size
'let's cut the dirt back' I'm gonna use it
At this point, I'm really excited to use Blender…I'm learning so much! Thank you! 🙂
Rutts
Wow, great tutorial.
This would be great addition to my terrain tutorial.
There is only one thing I hate about blender. Where on the add ons?? Like mesh and features like that?
Although this vid is a bit older now and you are way better at CG than me I have to be that guy: Singular of vertices is not 'verticee' but vertex
nice, natural looking ruts
I loved this, this is going tone a great series!
You expand things really well. Nice vid.
rats ruts hhh…great video man
I don't have a numpad
Man your channel is awesome!!!!! You make this world BETTER 😀 Thanks
my camera keeps moving, and its never in the place i had it last. its almost like its not " anchored"
HELP PLZ is there a way to keep it in the the same place all the time?
bb
could anyone help me?my blender is the 2.71 so i was trying to find that part where you have those conected boxes, but i'm still new using blender so idk where it is ;-; i'm really needing help, because i was doing my first game,if anyone want to help pls coment to me
Hi Steve, there is any way to get the folder of the project? there is any dvd or other? thanks, and congrats for the nice work!!
I am intrigued. I have to ask, is there a way to export scenes, very much like this one, from Blender to Unity?
Your pace and your knowledge are both awesome, thank you so much! So excellent, I'm not even going to say "vertex!" 😀
Hi, thanks for the tutorial!
At 6:02, when you add the skin modifier and get the ring, when I do that it just adds a bunch of gray stuff everywhere. Not sure what's going on.
And right before that when you move the vertex you merged the cube with using 'g', my vertex moves all of the other vertices when moved (I think because of the proportional editing, but for some reason your vertex just moves independently).
Do you know what's going on?
Thanks.
PS I'm using the latest version of Blender.
Always like the work you post.My biggest problem when modeling a large scene is avoiding the feeling like the scene is either too small or way too large. So I kind of want too model too scale, but I notice Blender will crash if there is a lot going on in the scene. So now I am trying too model too scale and add each individual element/asset to a single scene. Only problem is I still can't figure out how too bring it all together. I saw something on Appending and Linking, when I tried the objects still show up as different scenes or on new layers. If you or anyone knows how too accomplish this, I would appreciate the assist. I'm working on an animated short and always have room for critique and collaboration for those interested.
There are so, so, so ,so many faces in this… Are you insane!? This si being used for a hobbie right? Or something that's not a game I hope…
OK this does not help for game development trees T.T

Awsome!
This come in wery handy i must say.
can i import this to unity 5?
nice way of doing cg trees but the way he says roots as ruts annoys me for some reason!
Holy crap this is crazy cool!
wouldn't box modeling be as efficient since you were doing that more or less?
only image ….not like
Awesome tutorial! Thank you!
hey CG how to make someone sit in a 3d model car, like in green screen I shot a guy driving so how to put that guy in a 3d model car.
This is great – I would never have thought of using the Skin modifier to make trees this way. Thanks! My only criticism is that you keep saying "vertice". There's no such word! Vertex- vertices, like index-indices.
Hi, i watching your videos for a wile an i decide to download blender and trying to use it; im wondering if you can make tutorials of how to use it.
I dont want to search tutorials, i want you to make one because you explain very well the steps you make..
Greetings from Argentina!
(sorry for bad english)
