This shader is an implementation of the paper by Chiang et al., which was used in the Disney film, “Zootopia”®.

Landed in both master and Blender 2.8. Will it come to EEVEE? Eventually parts of it can be made compatible but it won’t look the same as this is quite raytracing heavy.
Artwork by Chris Chuipka, thanks!

7:00 Is that… John Wick? The man of little words?
thank you L. E. Segovia and Lukas Stockner for the awesome job.
Hello Pablo I think Blender needs the option which can control hair's thickness with weight paint

woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow, suck autodesk)))
Eevee > Cycles
Now that's a fantastic new shader! 😀
Does principle hair shader work with eevee? is it possible to see a demo with hair setup in eevee?
same hair as of the host haha
magic !
someone help me, I can't stop making hair cards, this is tooo gooood
i tried to render in sequence but hair is not there..
It's… It's gorgeous…
Guys, where the hell are smooth group options!?! Edge smoothing, marking sharp etc?
ok, now we need a good "out of the box" tools for creating hair itself. like this one:

Please, add plastic node, metal node, wood node, glass node, computer screen node, paper node
Great but what about curly hair — not everyone has straight hair
Cant wait to see comparisons to maya's xgen
I did a render speed test with my old hair shader which includes diffuse, glossy and translucency shaders with lots of gradient ramps, and without any hair shader, and compared it to the principle hair shader. and my old shader was still rendering eventually much faster. I've tested it on CPU because my GPU seems to be too old for this cuda version. Are the principle shaders actually better suited for GPUs?
Is this model and grooming somehow available as a blender file to test?
Xfavor hazlo en español!! o agrégale subtitulos a este video!! se ve muy genial esto!!!
Amazing, Beatiful, incredible, the future…, principled hair bsdf
Great, now all the furries can rejoice…
Just Give Us the Releasing Date of Blender 2.8
Guys, plz add circle array more simple and powerful!)
here's a suggestion for pie-menus (don't know if this is a good place to post this): when you drag the mouse swiftly from the center towards a menu item, make it select that item. like in Houdini.
Blen-DAMN!!
fantastic
I think 2.8 is going to be the best thing to happen to blender. I can't wait until it's fully released, but I wonder what they could possibly do after 2.8. Will it be the final blender program?
LOVING PABLO
